Who are you ?
Morpeth Gaming club is a group of dedicated gamers who meet up twice a week. We started in early 2002 in our Chairmans front room, playing as many games as we could fit in the limited space available.
With one thing and another it soon became clear we needed more space to play. We moved into the local scout hut in 2005, and started growing at a steady pace.
By mid-2006 we had moved again, this time to some new premises off the beaten track, but with superior facilities.
Now, we have a regular case of members, several regular visitors and we're growing all the time.
What games do you play ?
We play all of the major Gamesworkshop games, including Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40,000.
Several of our members also play Gamesworkshop's range of specialist games, such as Necromunda, Blood Bowl, Mordheim and Warhammer Quest.
Games of Fantasy are often played at 2000pts, and 40k games are usually 1500pts. Campaigns for both games are under way, and new gamers are always welcome.
In more recent times, several of our members have started to play Bablyon 5 : A Call to Arms by Mongoose Publishing and Flames of War by Battlefront.
Where are you ?
We are based at the Community Centre attached to St Georges Hospital, Morpeth.
We're about 10 minutes away from Morpeth Bus Station, and there is plenty of car parking available to the side of the community centre.
Anything else I should know ?
We don't enforce WYSIWYG, and we're more of a "gaming for fun" club.
Normally, we ask people to come with a standard army list supplied so you can jump straight into a game.
We encourage our members to play whatever appeals to them, and so we allows any rules to be played with your opponents permission.
Members wishing to play other gaming systems, or who simply want to come along and paint are more then welcome. However, blades of any type are banned on the premises, and glue is restricted to members who are 18+ for safety reasons.
